Photograms \ Rayographs
A photogram is a photographic image made without using a camera. it is simply made by placing objects on the surface of light sensitive paper, placing it underneath a light source then exposing it to the light. The usual result is a shadow image that shows variations in tone. Areas of the paper that have had no light stay white.
The technique is a form of camera less photography, it was used by Man Ray in his exploration of Rayographs. Anna Atkins created photogram like images. Rayographs or photograms are a bit like Cyanotypes but using chemicals in the darkroom. Rayographs are the result of experimenting in the dark room were chemicals are used to activate the image which is then washed in water. |

The main chemicals used in the dark room are the developer, a chemical to stop the whole process (which is called a stop bath) and fixer.
