Multiple images

How did I do this?
I used the Tallis Arts Pinterest Multiple Images board to help me create a popplet of series of different techniques of multiple images. I then pasted images of the ones that interest me most and added short explanation and who they where created by. I then wanted it to be a bit my colourful and more interesting so I added colour. The sub theme that interests me are the photographs on top of one another because it's like they are showing their life experiences. For example the image of the lady gradually getting older. I think it's a nice way to show a story step by step. It's a good way to visualise her looks throughout her life stages. The following images are screen grabs from my blog: |
Experiment #1
Me and my friend Havva have been experimenting the the iPads using an app called Blender where you blend two images together and choose what kind of layer style you want.
HOMEWORK
At the weekend I took images of my little sister during her birthday celebration. I have taken these images to experiment with them using different techniques associated with multiple images.
David HockneyI chose this particular picture because I like the way it has been broken down in to blocks. This is made by taking the image in sections like a collage made by a Polaroid camera. He is a british painter, printmaker, photographer, designer, and the best-known British artist of his generation.
Experiment #2I used an app called Instant which printed out my images as if they had been taken on a Polaroid camera. I then trimmed my images so that the white paper wasn't visible. Down below is the final outcome. I then arranged the images to tell a story. I searched sister quotes and pasted my favourite on to the board. Each of the images was mounted on foam board so that they looked even more like Polaroids.

Evaluation |
I chose this formation because it was really random and it suited the quote i had chosen by Marrion C. Garretty. "A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost". I like what I have done because, it shows a story of the day, with me,my sister and my cousin and one image of my sister and my friend.
NEXT I am going for something more unorganised because at the moment, the drafts of my finishing piece are really organised in grid form so I am going to over lap images of a person inspired by Hockney's Joiners technique.
Bellow I have attempted a series of images that would be pasted to Photoshop then arrange into a collaged picture. First, I chose what kind of images I wanted to be taken. I chose a student "Amy". I started from the bottom of my feet and made my way up. I took images far off from me to get a bigger background. I then uploaded them from the camera to a laptop on to iPhoto. Then I put them all in to one page of Photoshop and moved the layers around until I was satisfied with the result.

Experiment #3
Experiment #4
This is another idea I had. I took pictures of students and chose the best ones. I used Photoshop to create this effect copying the images on top of each other as they got small and smaller.
I chose a portrait of a pupil at school so that there wasn't that much going on otherwise the image would have been boring and you wouldn't have got the reason why the image was made to look this way. I chose a circle shape at first and produced an illusion created by pasting the same photo over and over again but smaller each time . |
Final Evaluation
When did I come across multiple images? well, In photography my teacher Mr Nicholls introduced us to multiple images and showed us his own Popplet of a variety of artists that resolve around multiple images. Then we had to produce our own poplet and include multiple images and what type they are and who they are by and most importantly why we liked them the most. after that we all went of as an individual and wrote about two images that we partially liked and posted it to our blog "tumblr". Then we had to explore further in to detail and artist most commonly known for multiple images and mine was David Hockney, I chose him because he's images inspired me the most and he had a wider range of images that support my inspiration. Then after that thats when I started experimenting with different images my self, the first piece I produced was with a series of images of my sister and a short quote that told the story for the reason for my piece.I then done another peice on my facial features which was arranged to still make a face. My third piece was of amy, which were images to make an image. My other piece was Robyn which where images mounted on top of each other but then produced even bigger with taken a photo with another photo which was another insiration of david Hockneys work. I did not end up producing this idea as I all ready had enough finishing ideas, but I did produce the pictures it was just about mounting them on to a piece of board to present them. have I enjoyed it?
I must say I have enjoyed this topic the most so far as it gave a a chance to explore my own ideas and to look in to artist and inspirations. But mostly it was about exloring the topic of moving images and making my own and I think I done that really well, and I hope I get really good feed back as I worked really hard to produce two peices and to produce intial ideas. |
